Description
The Au Pair programme is a cultural exchange opportunity allowing young people to
spend at least 12 months in the United States helping with childcare in a host family.
Participants will experience American customs, values, and culture, build relationships
with their host families, and create lasting memories and friendships.
Benefits
- Free accommodation and meals with your host family
- At least 1.5 days off per week
- Weekly salary of US$195.75
- Maximum 45 work hours per week, with no more than 10 hours per day
- Two weeks of vacation per year
- Study grant of up to US$500 for courses in the USA
- Medical insurance

Requirements
- Aged between 18 and 26 years when starting the programme.
- Completion of secondary school.
- Criminal background check.
- Completion of a psychometric test.
- Three references (one related to childcare experience)
Price includes
- Comprehensive advice on obtaining and organizing necessary documentation.
- Evaluation and orientation interviews.
- Job placement in the USA.
- Coordination, guidance, and assistance in the interview process.
- Arrangement of work permit (FORM DS-2019) from the USA.
- Management and payment of SEVIS fee (US$40).
- Guidance and assistance in completing all documentation.
- Assistance with DS-160 J1 visa application form and visa fee payment.
- Scheduling of the American embassy appointment.
- Medical insurance for the programme duration.
- American SIM card.
- Optional 30-day travel grace period in the USA.
- 24-hour emergency assistance in the USA.
Does not include:
- American Embassy J1 visa fee (185 US$).
Registration Process
STEP BY STEP REGISTRATION PROCESS
- Fill out the online form on the website.
- Participate in a virtual interview.
- Attend an in-person interview at the Dublin office (required by the USA sponsor for work permits and Au Pair authorization).
- Pay 295 euros to start the host family selection process.
- Submit all the necessary documents.
- GLOEX will arrange interviews with potential host families.
- If you receive an offer, sign the employment contract.
- Make a final payment of 300 euros.
- Guidance and support to complete the J1 visa application form.
- Assistance with travel preparation.
